This notice covers business-to-business direct marketing by Collect Compare Ltd (brand: Collect Compare). Your business contact details are held in a marketing database that Collect Compare Ltd operates jointly with Smarter Sites Ltd (brand: Smarter Sites) under a joint-controller arrangement, so unsubscribing here stops marketing from both companies. Our contact point for anything in this notice is contact@collectcompare.co.uk. This notice covers our UK GDPR Article 14 duty to tell you when we obtain your details from a source other than you.
Business contact details: your name, job title and seniority, business email address, employer and its website, LinkedIn profile address, and town, region and country. Information about your employer, such as its industry and size. Our own records of the emails we have sent you and how they went: whether they were delivered, whether you replied, and whether you asked us to stop. If you reply, we read your reply. We do not hold special-category data.
We obtained your business contact details from the Apollo.io B2B contact database and from publicly available business sources, and from any prior contact you have had with us. We hold them as our own records. We check company names against the public Companies House register so that we only write to people at registered organisations.
We use them to send business-to-business marketing that we believe is relevant to your work. Either company may email you about its own services: Collect Compare Ltd about comparing debt-recovery agencies (Collect Compare), and Smarter Sites Ltd about websites, software and online advertising. Each email says which brand, and therefore which company, sent it. We also use your details to act on your replies, to stop emailing addresses that bounce, and to honour opt-outs. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (promoting our services to businesses likely to need them). We only market to people at corporate organisations, and we keep the data we hold to a minimum.
We do not sell your details or give them to anyone else to market to you. Service providers process them for us under contract: Cloudflare (hosting and database), Amazon Web Services (sending email), Google (our email inbox, where replies arrive) and Companies House (company name checks). Google and Cloudflare may process data outside the UK, under the safeguards in their data processing terms.
You can opt out at any time — every email has a one-click unsubscribe, or use this page. Opting out is immediate and permanent. You also have the right to access your data, to have it erased, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to have inaccuracies corrected. To exercise any of these, use the unsubscribe page (which can also delete your details) or reply to any of our emails.
We review our marketing data regularly and delete contacts we have not engaged with. If you unsubscribe, your email address stays on our do-not-contact list permanently, so we can be certain never to contact you again. If you ask us to delete your details, we erase them and keep only a one-way code (a hash) of your address, for the same reason. Backup copies are deleted after 90 days.
You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, though we would appreciate the chance to help first.
